Are you looking for increased mental clarity, more energy and overall optimal health? Then I suggest adding Yerba Mate to your daily nutritional intake. The main ingredient for this drink is a tea which is made from the Yerba Mate tree which is native to the subtropical Atlantic forests of Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina. This evergreen member of the holly family was introduced to modern civilizations by the indigenous Guarani of these countries. When the leaves are dried and brewed into a drink it is a healthy alternative to coffee. Yerba Mate is known as “The Drink of the Gods” by many indigenous groups in South America. Yerba mate has significant health benefits that have been peaking the interests of many Americans. Follow the recipe that I have included and drink yourself to health.

Probiotics are live microbial organisms that are naturally present in the digestive tract and vagina. They are thought to be beneficial and are referred to as “friendly” bacteria.
Some of the ways they are thought to promote health include suppressing the growth of potentially harmful bacteria, improving immune function, enhancing the protective barrier of the digestive tract, and helping to produce vitamin K.
Good intestinal flora helps prevent bloating, gas, and yeast overgrowth by controlling the pH level, or acidity, of the intestines.
Friendly microbes also help prevent disease in several ways. They deprive invaders of nutrients and secrete acids that less friendly microbes can’t tolerate well. They also reinforce the mucosal barrier of the intestines, which block dangerous pathogens, toxins, and allergens and helps the immune system “learn” which ones aren’t safe.
Given a ready supply of vegetables, legumes, and whole grains, good bacteria live long and prosper. Polyphenols, found in foods like garlic, green tea and ginseng, are also helpful in fostering friendly microbes.
The liver is responsible for handling most of our energy needs. It takes raw building blocks from food and breaks it down into basic nutritional components. The liver creates and stores sugars for both immediate and long-term energy use. If the liver is congested or diseased it will not receive or send out enough blood sugar and your energy will drop. Chronic lack of energy, especially after meals, could be the result of a sluggish liver.
As we have stated before in several previous posts a Colonic or a Colon Hydrotherapy session is pretty much an enema. (more…)
Reflexology is a form of massage in which pressure is applied to certain parts of the feet and hands in order to promote relaxation and healing in the body. It is believed that each part of the body is interconnected through the nervous system to the hands and feet. When we stimulate specific reflex points in the feet, we can bring relief to poorly functioning areas of the body.
