Elizabeth Lombardo, PhD, a psychologist and author stated in the January 2011 issue of Health Magazine that, “Research shows that the accumulation of minor daily irritants causes more psychological and physical problems than major stressors do.”

 

One suggestion was to try belly breathing.  Place one hand over your diaphragm (right above your belly button).  Each time you inhale, let your diaphragm expand; watch as your hand rises.  When you exhale, your hand will sink.  This type of belly breathing helps ease stress, according to mind-body research.
