Tips to help with an anxiety attack as it is happening:

·      Look around you, take in your surroundings

·      Find 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste

This is called grounding.  It can help when you feel like you have lost all control of your surroundings.

Practice these tips when feeling calm as well to create a habit so when you are experiencing anxiety you will automatically know what to do to ground yourself.
