Tobacco and caffeine have a paralyzing effect on the colon and encourage constipation. Coffee destroys the “friendly bacteria” in the large intestine. Alcohol tends to produce constipation and intestinal mucus. Juices such as prune, aloe vera and apple are often beneficial to help the lower bowel.
Do not use laxatives either medicinal or herbal. Rather use an herbal tonic, such as Colon Flush.
