If the bowel has sufficient fiber and water, it is typical for it to move shortly after completing a meal. Once the urge to eliminate is acknowledged with a trip to the toilet, the elimination process should be smooth and take no more than a few seconds.
Ideally, the stool will be approximately 1″ in diameter, light brown in color, and without any offensive odor. It should either float or sink very slowly. Upon flushing the toilet, the stool should immediately begin to break apart due to the water movement.
